Fletcher Stands From Cherries Post

Steve Fletcher has stepped down from his post as assistant manager at Bournemouth.

The 39-year-old, who took on the role in January of this year, will remain on the Cherries' books as a member of manager Lee Bradbury's playing staff.

Bournemouth will look to appoint a new assistant from outside the club.

In a statement of the club's official website, Fletcher said: "It wasn't an easy decision but I've really enjoyed the role and I love the club.

"My focus is now on helping the club push up the table and continuing the success of the last few years."

Chairman Eddie Mitchell said: "We would like to thank Steve for the hard work he has put in as assistant manager. He remains a popular and important member of the squad, and will undoubtedly have a big part to play in the future development of the club."
